WHAT TOLLS ARE ELIGIBLE?
This program applies to outstanding toll violations incurred on Delaware State Route 1 and I-95, between January 1, 2014 and April 30, 2020.
WHAT IS AN AMNESTY PROGRAM?
Those who participate in the amnesty program will be permitted to pay one fee plus tolls due instead of the fees and penalties originally assessed on the tolls. Once the original toll amount and the amnesty fee (the "amnesty balance";) are paid, the fees and penalties originally assessed will be waived, and the account will be considered fully satisfied.
HOW CAN I PREPARE TO PARTICIPATE?
Always be sure that your vehicle address on file with the Division of Motor Vehicles is current, as your letter will be sent to that address. A change of address can be completed using myDMV Online Services, self-serve kiosks, or visiting one of our four DMV locations statewide.
HOW LONG IS THIS PROGRAM AVAILABLE?
All outstanding accounts that received toll violations within the eligible period will be mailed a letter to their current address on file on or after October 1, 2021. This letter will reflect the outstanding balance and offer participation in the amnesty program. Participants will have sixty (60) days from the date of the letter to take advantage of the amnesty program.
HOW ARE AMNESTY FEES CALCULATED?
Senate Joint Resolution 5, passed by the Delaware General Assembly, established the fees for the amnesty program. Likewise, the amnesty balance is the amount of the amnesty fee plus the original toll amount.
WHAT IF I CAN'T PAY IN FULL IN 60 DAYS?
You may arrange to make payments to satisfy the amnesty balance due during the 60-day amnesty period. As long as your amnesty balance is paid in full by December 31, 2021, your account will be considered fully satisfied.
